INCLINING EXPERIMENT OYSTER DREDGE

Project Summary

Oyster dredge ELUSIVE is a converted LCM-6 landing craft, now used for the harvesting of fresh oysters in Humboldt Bay. Because of past stability concerns, a stability analysis including an Inclining Experiment was conducted and from its results, the lightship weight and its associated vertical center of gravity was determined. Using this data, in combination with a computer model of the hull, various stability scenarios were analyzed and presented.
